Plan before you order

Choose the right racks — and a quote you can compare.

For a shop, pharmacy or warehouse, the cheapest price per rack is not always the same scope. Start with your goods and usable space, then compare dimensions, shelf counts, load requirements and installation.

Match the use, not just the size

Which rack type suits your stock?

How goods are displayed, picked and replenished matters as much as floor area. Follow the relevant guide for options and a category-specific quote checklist.

Understanding rack prices

Compare the same configuration — not just the starting price.

A per-unit rate only becomes useful when you know what one unit includes. A starter bay with its own uprights and an add-on bay that shares an upright are not identical quotations. Guide prices are not a confirmed offer for your dimensions.

Dimensions and shelf quantity

Ask for height, bay length, depth, usable shelf depth and number of levels. Check whether a base shelf is counted as a level and whether pricing is per bay, per shelf or per complete run.

Construction and finish

Compare the specified material, section sizes or gauge where applicable, shelf decking, bracing, colour and finish. Similar-looking racks can have different configurations.

Accessories and installation

List dividers, price rails, hooks, cabinets, end panels, protectors and anchoring separately. Confirm who unloads, assembles and fixes the system, and which site checks are included.

The delivered project total

Compare the rack subtotal plus GST, transport, unloading, assembly and any agreed site work. Do not compare an ex-factory price against an installed price as though they include the same service.

For a Hyderabad, Telangana or Andhra Pradesh project, send your city or postcode along with the rack specification. Transport, access and installation scope can change the final quotation. Request a written total rather than assuming a website guide price includes everything.

A rough sketch is a useful start

What measurements should you send?

Label every measurement with its unit — mm, feet or metres — and mark anything you are unsure about. Do not guess structural loads or reduce safety clearances just to add more bays.

  • Usable floor length, width and clear height
  • Doors, shutters, columns, windows and obstructions
  • Required customer, picking and equipment routes
  • Largest item or pallet dimensions and maximum weight
  • Rack quantity, shelf levels and storage or display use
  • Delivery city, floor level, unloading access and timeline

Storage safety

A load rating applies to a configuration, not a photograph.

Ask whether a stated capacity is per shelf, beam level, pallet position or whole bay. A uniformly distributed load (UDL) is spread across the intended supporting area; a concentrated point load is different. One number should not be assumed to cover both.

Span, uprights, beam or shelf sections, bracing, connectors, level spacing, anchoring and floor conditions affect a system. Give the supplier the heaviest expected stored item and the handling method before accepting a recommendation.

For pallet, cantilever or other load-critical storage: have a qualified supplier or engineer confirm the design and site requirements. Obtain the applicable load information and installation instructions in writing. This guide is a purchasing checklist, not a structural design or safety certification.

Before paying an advance

Keep the agreed scope in one document.

  1. Confirm the business identity. Our rack brand is Fauji Industries; the registered trade name is Shiva Chandra Enterprises. Match the quote, GST details and payment instructions with the business you contacted.
  2. Approve a configuration. Record dimensions, quantities, materials, finish, load basis and accessories. Ask what is excluded, including any electrical or civil work.
  3. Agree delivery and installation. Record the destination, access assumptions, unloading responsibility, installation scope and schedule. Stock-size and custom projects may have different lead times.
  4. Read the commercial terms. Check tax, payment stages, quote validity, warranty coverage and how changes or additional bays will be handled.
  5. Ask for relevant evidence. Request genuine photos of similar supplied work and permission-based customer references where available. Catalogue and stock images illustrate products; they are not proof of a completed installation.
